Founder & designer Natalie Chapman began her namesake brand in 2008. Natalie’s creative design aesthetic and flare for business comes from a family history of commercial design and manufacture.
Graduating in 2005, Natalie studied fashion design at Raffles Design Institute. In 2008, at just 22 years old, she started her label as a one-woman operation. Within 2 years she was selling to 25 boutique stores across Australia.
2010 saw Natalie experience her first international achievement, representing Australia at ‘G’Day USA’ New York Fashion Showcase. The experience was the start of her brand’s journey to develop her designs and business to market herself on an international level.
In 2012 Natalie grew her team to market herself in Australia and the US. Natalie today refers to her international travels as the most rewarding experience of her brand development. It was headline news in Australia when Natalie flew to New York to showcase a gown at the New York Fashion Week Finale in September 2012.
Early 2013 Natalie was invited back to New York to present at New York Fashion Week for the Fall season, a showcase attended by fashion editors, celebrities and buyers from around the world.
Late 2015 Natalie travelled to LA to launch the brands new seasonal collection. Natalie along with introducing the brand to a new network of industry professionals built her now Los Angeles team to continue the brands expansion internationally. Natalie now works directly with stylists in film and fashion looking after influential trendsetters to compliment the NATALIE CHAPMAN brand.
Internationally Natalie’s designs have been seen on style icons Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner. Natalie’s designs are seen on the Red Carpet in Los Angeles including Oscar events, Golden Globes, NAACP Image Awards and movie premiere’s.
In Australia, Natalie’s designs have been seen on Australian profiles including model Jennifer Hawkins, Megan Gale and Jessica Gomes.
Natalie’s signature Tuxedo “Boss Lady” look was featured on the cover of Marie Claire Indonesia December Issue 2016 with actress Sarah Hyland. Natalie’s designs have been featured in fashion magazines including British GQ, Vogue, Composure, Stylist Arabia, London Times, Cosmopolitan, Life&Style and OK! Magazines.
Today the Natalie Chapman brand is based in Los Angeles.
